Discover the timeless art of silk ribbon embroidery in this hands-on workshop series, where traditional technique meets contemporary creativity. Working with silk ribbons, beads, and threads, participants will learn to transform plain fabric into richly textured, dimensional artworks — building forms that rise off the surface with real volume and sheen. Over the course of the series, participants move from the very fundamentals through to a complete, wearable creation, beginning with essential tools and foundational stitches, progressing into decorative and three-dimensional stump work techniques, and combining embroidery with beadwork — culminating in designing and finishing their own embroidered brooch.

Why Choose This Workshop?

Practiced across cultures for centuries, embroidery has long been a way of adding beauty, meaning, and identity to textiles — and beyond its beauty, the rhythm of stitching is calming and meditative, encouraging focus, patience, and mindfulness while building a real sense of accomplishment with every finished piece. No prior experience is required — just curiosity and a willingness to slow down and create. The series is designed to carry participants gently from their first stitch to a finished, wearable work of their own.

What Participants Will Learn?

Participants will begin with the essentials — tools, materials, and preparing fabric and hoop — before working through a range of foundational stitches such as stem, satin, French knots, and rose petals. They will explore decorative and ribbon techniques including chain, lazy daisy, feather, fairy hair, silk bows, and ribbon leaves, and learn how to incorporate beadwork into their stitching. Building on these skills, participants will design, stitch, and finish their own brooch from start to pin.
