RISO printing for Beginners Diego

Learn to RISO print in this beginner’s workshop on the Japanese machine. First introduced in the 1980’s, the RISO duplicator was used for commercial purpose, but has since gained popularity amongst illustrators, comic artists, graphic designers and other visual artists. The RISO printer allows users to experiment with registration, solid and gradient compositions, and colour layering.

This workshop will introduce the basics of printing a two-colour RISO print, from creating the print to layering and colour choices. Participants will explore both collage and drawing with different media, creating a single image to be transferred into an edition of RISO prints.

The workshop is suitable for ages 15+. No prior experience is necessary, but experienced users are encouraged to participate and share their own experiences of using the machine.
