Professional Practice: Writing for Artists

Presented as part of the Professional Practice Programme, these sessions focus on writing about your own work – such as artist statements and biographies, as well as to unlock the productive, reflective potential of the endeavour.

There will be a focus on writing artist statements and biographies from scratch, as well as editing and updating them to work in various contexts. We’ll also consider some other kinds of writing that artists have to produce – from exchanges with media and curators, to developing short summaries for specific works.
