Product designer Salim Ahmed is the Design Coordinator at Tashkeel and has led the Tanween design programme since 2016. He primarily coordinates training sessions and supports participants with the development, prototyping and production of their locally manufactured limited edition designs. A graduate of Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, Salim holds a B.Des in Interior & Spatial Design. He is the founder of CardboardWorks, a sustainable design practice specialising in bespoke corrugated, hand-crafted cardboard products and furniture using environmentally-friendly materials with a sustainable life-cycle.

Join this 90-minute free workshop led by Salim Ahmed from Tashkeel to assemble a lamp using pre-cut wooden components made on the Tashkeel Laser Cutter and a simple lighting element. Customise your creation using a selection of paints. Suitable for adults with basic proficiency in product design and making.
