As part of our Sustainability Week, this Afterschool Arts Club workshop will introduce our young artists to a planet-friendly art technique called paper maché. By using organic glue and recycled paper, participants will explore a variety of techniques to create simple moulds that they can use to make jewellery, masks or even lamps! The workshop is designed to introduce a green and sustainable way of getting involved with the world of art and design.
The year 2021 was declared as the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development by the United Nations. To reflect our long-term commitment to sustainability, Tashkeel is dedicating an entire week of workshops for 8 – 16 year olds as an extension of our regular Afterschool Arts Club. Divided into two age groups, these workshops focus on using sustainable materials to achieve fun, creative results that stimulate the participants’ critical thinking, imagination, and problem-solving skills.
