The year 2021 was declared as the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development by the United Nations. To reflect our long-term commitment to sustainability, Tashkeel is dedicating an entire week of workshops for 8 – 16 year olds as an extension of our regular Afterschool Arts Club. Divided into two age groups, these workshops focus on using sustainable materials to achieve fun, creative results that stimulate the participants’ critical thinking, imagination, and problem-solving skills.

Using the design-thinking process, participants will devise and prototype a mechanism from scratch to move popcorn kernels from one area to another. Using scarce resources, our young critical thinkers will work with their teams and solve the design challenge collaboratively. The clock’s ticking. Are you up for the task?
