Tashkeel is hosting Mo Reda, a curator who is in the UAE for a month researching several projects and would like to involve GCC artists. Mo Reda is doing a series of studio visits with artists who are members at Tashkeel, doing 2 - 3 sessions and a review at the end. The purpose of his visit to Tashkeel is to introduce local art and artists, prepare concepts for the Biennale show in Kochi and research funding for future projects, and introduce artists to build connections between the Emirati, Indian, Bolivian, and Indonesian art scenes.
The projects Mo Reda is currently involved with include:
1 - Bolivia Biennale
Curating a show to happen during the Santa cruz de la sierra biennale in Bolivia.
The curator and director of the Biennale, Eduardo Ribera, has invited Mo to curate a VIDEO show with middle eastern artist.
The largest space at centro cultural de santa cruz will be reserved for this show.
The biennale offers exhibition space and technical aspects and related costs for the duration of the biennale.
The biennale starts in September 2016.
2- Kochi biennale
2 artists and one curator (Mo Reda) to go to kochi later this year, do residency and produce work. This will result in a 4 months show during the biennale. This is of course a direct production of the biennale. Can increase the artists to 3 artist but needs to find external funding for that. The foundation will also cover all exhibition related costs for 4 months including space , preparing a warehouse for suit exhibition costs, pr and etc.
3- Jogja biennale 2017
This biennale opens October 2017
