Rimsha Kidwai

Rimsha Kidwai is a product designer with an interest in urban research, materiality and indigenous production methods. Based in the UAE since 2006, she graduated from the National College of Arts in Pakistan and has since worked at Dubai-based design studios Tinkah and Aljoud Lootah Design. Her practice has led her to work with branding and experience design for retail concepts as well, including Ganache Chocolatier which was launched at Alserkal Avenue in 2023.

Having a modular sense of space and structures, Rimsha is resourceful in her design approach. Her work is characterized by minimal forms, design details and meticulously researched outcomes. She focuses on expanding the boundaries and versatility of emerging sustainable materials, exploring its social and cultural impact, connection to the natural landscape, adaptability and tactile variations.

She is an avid collector of local materials for over four years and has a growing library of unique textures, colors and surfaces.

Rimsha finds inspiration in tracing the history of products in the region, and its transformation over the years. Her work has been exhibited at UAE Designer's Exhibition in Dubai Design Week and Jameel Arts Center in 2020 and has worked on various commission for Dubai Expo 2020.
