Najat Al Shejni
Najat Alshejni is a Yemeni self taught visual artist based in the UAE. Alshejni’s artistic endeavours culminated in the exhibition of her “Yemen Nostalgia” series at Made in Tashkeel in 2023, marking the beginning of her professional career as an artist. Through her evocative artworks, she invites viewers to immerse themselves in the landscapes, scents, and emotions of Yemen, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of her homeland. Central to Alshejni’s artistic vision is her desire to use art as cultural diplomacy, bridging geographical boundaries and fostering understanding between diverse communities. In addition to her focus on Yemen, Alshejni is passionate about raising awareness about Palestine, using her art for advocacy and solidarity. Her heartfelt creations invites viewers to embark on a journey of introspection, reflection, and appreciation for the cultural tapestry that shapes our world.
