Mohammed Ali Aerosol
Mohammed Ali is a UK-based street artist who uses his art to empower communities, often celebrating community stories around faith and migration. For nearly two decades, he has created murals, art installations, live performances and film projections, to get people to look into each others lives in an increasingly polarised society. By fusing street art with Islamic script and patterns, he delivers powerful and moving messages.
Through his theatrical productions, he has created immersive experiences for audiences throughout the world. From the streets of New York, Amsterdam, London and Melbourne, through to performances in the Vatican.
In 2008 Ali established Soul City Arts, an arts organisation bringing together artists, activists, academics and communities. He is also an educator and passionate speaker, often advocating on the power of art to heal and grow. Ali was the 2010 Tashkeel Artist-in-Residence.
