Marwan Shakarchi
Marwan Shakarchi was born in the UK after his parents emigrated from Baghdad. In 2008, he created the iconic cloud which later became the symbol for the art movement known as Myneandyours. Following working alongside Shepard Fairey, Marwan relocated to Dubai. The Myneandyours project evolved into an experiment in symbology, helping the viewer to understand how a symbol can affect perceptions of the environment. Marwan’s practice has been affiliated with a range of clientele, working with public murals, digital illustration, visual communication and fine art. He has developed projects with government entities, private developers, private art collectors and acclaimed brands. Marwan is a member of Tashkeel.
