Kuda Catherine Manhotoma

Kuda Catherine Manhotoma is a Zimbabwean visual artist. She draws on encounters as an art teacher; taking simple techniques using recycling materials and transforming them beyond common use. Her themes hedge around the expressive structures of the face, leading to both abstract and semi abstract pieces, which interrogate tenets of identity and belonging in shifting mental and physical spaces. She explores the intrinsic state of the human being or state of mind. Her work has been displayed in galleries and spaces in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, USA and the UAE. She holds an Honours Degree in Creative Art and Design from Chinhoyi University of Technology, Zimbabwe and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Liverpool John Moores University. She has won several awards in sculpture and mixed media. Kuda Catherine Manhotoma is a member of Tashkeel.
