Emilie Mansour
Emilie Thomas Mansour is a French/Lebanese published author and cross-disciplinary artist and performer living in the Middle East since 2004, mainly in Lebanon and Dubai. Her research and artistic practice investigate the place of an artist citizen and the intersections of literature, movement, memory and urban landscapes during extremely fast and violent changes. With the exploration of liminal spaces at the core of an artistic experimentation reflecting on the fast and violent metamorphoses of a city, she developed the concept of “Urbigraphy”.
She holds a double MA in Material Sciences and Contemporary Dance in INSA Lyon France, and a Sorbonne PhD in Literature and Comparative Studies.
She is currently Research Associate at Women and Gender Studies in the American University of Beirut and an artist member of Tashkeel in Dubai.
