Abeer Loan

Abeer Loan is a Dubai based visual artist born in Islamabad, Pakistan. Having spent her formative years in Bahrain, she completed a BFA in Visual Arts from BNU, Lahore, Pakistan and MFA from Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford, UK. Abeer works in a variety of mediums like printmaking, painting, embroidery and often incorporates found objects from everyday life. Her practice derives from a keen observation and critique of the culture and environment around her. Although at first her work seems concerned with the banality of daily life, the minimal aesthetic slowly unfolds itself as a comment on larger issues in the public and private spheres.
