3D, Sculpture and Jewellery Studio

The 3D Studio is well equipped with facilities for sculpture and design technology. Equipment ranges from the basic, traditional essentials to the more contemporary industrial machines suitable to meet the needs of any artist or designer.

Equipment in the 3D Studio includes band saws, pillar drills, disc and belt sanders, a grinder and a vacuum former for shaping plastic molds.

Tashkeel’s laser cutter provides members with a unique opportunity to work unrestricted with this advanced form of industrial technology. Tashkeel staff provides an essential introduction to this piece of equipment with suggestions for suitable materials, and from there members are welcome to experiment as they would with any other tool. In addition to the laser cutter, Tashkeel’s 3D Studio also has a vinyl cutter used to produce precision graphics.

The jewellery making facilities consist of individual workstations for up to 6 people.

Each has access to power points which allows access to a range of specialist tools for all stages of the jewellery making process – including wax work, hammering, soldering, wire work, stone setting amongst other techniques. Facilities include gas blowtorches, a large brazing hearth, a wire and a sheet rolling mill and a polishing wheel.
