Tashkeel Talk: Working Collaboratively

Starts - Tuesday 2 November 2021

bahraini — danish, an architecture and design studio established in Bahrain in 2016 by Batool Alshaikh, Maitham Almubarak and Christian Vennerstrøm Jensen. They mainly collaborate with local artisans and craftspeople to produce and craft objects and spaces. Their work has been presented around the Middle East and in Europe and continues to make its way from A’ali and Copenhagen into the world. The designers will present their various projects, publications, and processes that showcase how each project is formed through dialogue and a democratic approach to design and architecture.

The studio is named after the many historical encounters between Bahrain and Denmark in the fields of archaeology, architecture and dairy production. Using their varied cultural heritage, the studio delves into their cultural differences, both socially and professionally, as a means of creation.
