Have you been longing to move from 2D to 3D but not sure how to do it? This one-day workshop will guide you through making basic prototypes using wood to develop your work into 3D structures. Explore woodworking practices in a fun and lively workshop designed to be a playful exploration in developing forms with the help of an experienced instructor.

The workshop will examine how wood can be used as an extension to our 2D work and how it can inform process and influence outcome. Participants are encouraged to play and experiment with these tools in order to expand their own visual language.

Cian Lombard will explore beginning and intermediate woodworking techniques, focusing predominantly on translating 2D work into a 3D material. Participants will make maquettes and prototypes at a small scale to consider how work can be translated into sculpture, site specific and installation pieces.
