Tashkeel is launching the second edition of its popular Sketchbooks series, with new cover designs by locally-based artists and designers. Each sketchbook features a specially-commissioned artwork that embodies the artists' unique styles and techniques.
eL Seed uses Arabic calligraphy and a distinctive style to spread messages of peace, unity and to underline the commonalities of human existence. His artwork can be found all over the world and consistently aim at unifying communities and redressing stereotypes. In 2017, he received the UNESCO Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture. Since spending one year as artist-in-residence (2013-2014) in its main centre in Nad Al Sheba, eL Seed is a member of Tashkeel.

Artist Biography
eL Seed produces intricate calligraphic compositions and installs them in public spaces, galleries and institutions on every continent. From the streets of Paris and New York, to the favelas of Rio de Janeiro and the slums of Cape Town, his contemporary approach aims to bring people, cultures and generations together.
