Casting failure, 2016Matt white paint (water based), cast iron cube moulds
Six cube moulds, 15 x 15 x 15 cm each
Having all surfaces of equal size, the cube has for long been revered as an ideal form. It holds an ideological scheme that is immaculately embodied by the white cube, which this work resists. The chosen material (paint) will dry and shrink over time*. Its tendency will fail to reference the cubic volume.
*Gallery IVDE will exhibit the work until the paint mass is thoroughly shrunken.
