This painting was mainly an experimentation as well as an interesting experience. I tried to explore a way of sculpting with paint but incorporating color and an observed value structure as well. The paint was only applied with a palette knife. This was something completely new to me, but I drew from the work of previous artists that worked with thick rich paint like Lucian Freud, Jenny Saville and Tai-Shan Schierenberg.
