Deadline: 15 April 2017
Dubai-based contemporary art organization Tashkeel seeks a deputy director to further the organisation’s mission of facilitating art and design practice, creative experimentation and cross-cultural dialogue.
Reporting to the founder and director, and managing a growing staff of 14 professionals and external agencies, the ideal candidate will have robust leadership skills, and a demonstrable interest in growing Tashkeel’s focus on supporting the UAE’s creative community. Working with a dedicated team, the appointed deputy director will oversee the staff, strategy and execution of Tashkeel’s member-based studio facilities, artists' residencies, and international fellowships, as well as a dynamic programme of exhibitions, events and onsite workshops. This is a new position at Tashkeel, which requires a candidate with a minimum of 5 years’ managerial experience. The appointment will impact the future restructuring of the team.
Tashkeel anticipates interest from visionaries who are proactive, focused individuals who are able to conceptualise and initiate new projects while delivering Tashkeel’s existing commitments, collaborating closely with its director. The appointee will be encouraged to travel regionally and internationally to foster partnerships in the wider cultural community. Spoken and written Arabic language skills would be beneficial to this role; strong writing and presentation capabilities are a must. The role includes a generous salary, benefits and leave package, in line with candidate experience and capabilities.
Please send CV and letter of application to Jill Hoyle (firstname.lastname@example.org) by 15 April to apply for Tashkeel’s Deputy Director role.
