Alia Dawood

Born:
1988

Architecture

Originally Iraqi, Alia grew up in London where she studied Architecture at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. She then completed her masters at The Prince’s Drawing School, London.

Dawood’s work often focuses on captured moments of the cityscape. Drawing in Dubai as a means to understand the city resulted in a solo show in 2012 at Showcase Gallery entitled “Moments Shared: The Treasured Temporary”. Since then Dawood has participated in group shows including SIKKA Art Fair 2014. Dawood is now working from Tashkeel and building up a body of work which records Dubai’s urban typography.
