Established in January 2008, Tashkeel is an independent resource for artists and designers living and working in the United Arab Emirates.

Tashkeel is committed to facilitating art and design practice, cross-cultural dialogue and creative exchange.

To be able to access the studios at Tashkeel one must be a registered member. Members have access to studio facilities which are: painting, photography darkroom, printmaking, textile printing, MAC lab, jewellery and 3D practice. In addition to the studio resources, there is an up to date journals and reference library as well as a member's room and a gallery open to the public.

Tashkeel also organizes workshops in creative practice led by practicing artists which is open to both members and non members.

Members' Benefits:
Being a member at Tashkeel gives artists and designers the opportunity to interact with artists from different cultural backgrounds and experiences; from the professionals who have been working in the field of art for decades to the young artists who are just starting out in the field. Tashkeel believes that this interaction is vital for the artist to progress with the content of their work.

Tashkeel gives opportunities to the inexperienced artists to take part in workshops lead by highly accredited professional artists such as: Sacha Jafri, Azza Al Qubassi and Huda Smitshuijzen AbiFares. They also can volunteer to work hands on with artists to aid in the set up of large complex installations which are exhibited at Tashkeel.
